Main catching area is in the North Sea, Skagerak, and the Norwegian Sea. Primary season is September to November, however we also have a shorter season in January-February as well as Summer Mackerel caught through June/July.

Mackerel, particularly the Atlantic Mackerel, is a nutritional powerhouse that offers a multitude of health benefits. Mackerel is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for maintaining heart health and have anti-inflammatory properties. A single fillet can provide 2991 mg of omega-3, which is more than most other oily fish. Vitamin B12, which is essential for the nervous system and for producing DNA. With about 20% protein per fillet, mackerel is not only rich in quantity but also quality. It contains all nine essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. Mackerel is also a great source of several other nutrients, including niacin, iron, vitamin B6, riboflavin, magnesium, phosphorus, folate, and selenium.
